What We Do

Motor Vehicle Accident Rehabilitation

What Is Whiplash
‘ Whiplash’ is a term that is used to describe an injury to the neck as a result of a high velocity trauma. The injury can involve any of the neck tissues (bone, cartilage, ligament, muscle) and can be of varying severity.
Whiplash and other bodily injuries are often sustained in a motor vehicle accident (MVA). Treatment of these injuries is most effective when they are addressed soon after the MVA.

Who Can Provide Treatment
Physiotherapists are primary providers and are trained to safely assess the status of your musculoskeletal and neurological systems to determine the most appropriate treatment. Your physician and/or other healthcare practitioners may also be involved in this process.

Why See a Physiotherapist
Physiotherapists are very helpful in the recovery process as it has been proven in the research that a combination of manual therapy and specific muscle recruitment exercises is the most beneficial regime. Physiotherapists are well educated regarding pain control, injury classificiation and management, and functional rehabilitation.
